Another Finished project

Well as unbelievable as it seems I have finshed another project. No not the kiddies tank top but the Pampas Jacket. It is lovely to wear and soooo wonderfully warm and cosy. the only downside is that it sheds hairs like nobodies business so if you are thinking of knitting it line it.
I have just ignored the washing instructions and put it in the washing machine on a 30 degree delicates wash (woollen programme) and it seems to have survived unscathed. It is drying flat over the bath at the moment and seems even softer than before . Will update you when it dries. Here's the finshed article pre-washing

August WIP and Finished Projects

Still on the needles is the RYC Luxury Cotton DK stripey top. The new projects on the needles are Pampas from Rowan 40 in Big Wool Fusion ( blue/off white mix) and Tommy from RYC Bambino a gorgeous cable and moss stitch tank top( in petrol blue) for a toddler. I am also knitting Sophie from Jaeger JB39 in Roma pale blue. I seem to be going through a Blue phase.

I have finished Flotsam and Jetsam in Rowan Calmer and the Union Jack Tank Top has been finished as has the scarf and teattime top. I can't show a photof of the latter 3 as they have disappeared into the bedrooms of their recipients. I also knitted a bag in Holiday for an exchange present.
I have knitted swatches in the new Rowan and RYC yarns and these are my verdicts so far.
Country: I love the colours , the thickness and the way it self stripes subtly.
Tapestry: Again I love the subtle striping and colour choices, I also like it's eco friendlyness with the wool and soya protein mix and it is sooo soft. It's a DK yarn so the pattern choice is huge.
Romance: Pastel Colours with a glittery thread running through it. My niece loves it but there aren't any childrens patterns for it yet.
RYC Silk Wool: I knitted a swatch in this and it is a dream to knit with. A lovely texture when knitted up as well
RYC Baby AlpacaDK: This is not a baby yarn but a yarn made from baby alpacas. This is the softest yarn imaginable only down side is that like mohair it sheds but it's worth knitting even with the shedding.
RYC Alpaca: It's very soft but I'm not a huge fan of the Astrakhan effect but it does knit nicely.
RYC Cashsoft Aran: Not a new yarn but an absolute dream to knit with. It glides off the needle and is so soft and easy to knit.

Too Much Stash!!!!

I have been so busy lately that the house is becoming like a teenagers bedroom. No room for anything and so much needs to be put away. Most of it craft stuff
Hubby has been very nice and cleared a large space for me to put one of my stashes in the shed. It was tough choice but I finally decided to put the yarn in there. I am in the middle of sorting it out and have to admit that I do have too much yarn and definitely do not need any more. Checking pulse.... not been struck down....! It does seem almost sacreligous to say that but it is true. I am putting each yarn I have into seperate bags/boxes which works well in theory, but, I filled a box with my aran and then found more balls which just managed to go in the 18litre box then found a few more which won't go in the box I have for it, so I need to buy a bigger box. A non knitter will find it unbelieveable the amount of yarn I have but I'm sure the knitters out there will understand. One good thing about sorting it out is that I am cataloging it as I pack it away . At least then in theory I can just look through the notebook and choose the yarn for my next project. That's the theory at least.
