February Works In Progess

On the needles at the moment I have Spray by Kim Hargreaves in the green Rowan Plaid, the dreaded shawl, Florence from RYC Classic Beach Book in Cotton DK and am about to start a scarf for my BIL in Jaeger Shetland Aran a beige colour. As I can only knit in RYC, Rowan or Jaeger at work I shall probably start the Artists coat there until I finish at least one of my projects.

Oops Is that the date?

Well It's been a while since I updated this so lots to say.
Thought I'd better update it before we end up in March!! Well I started my new Job and although it was a bit more than I expected I am thoroughly enjoying it, The people I work with are a great bunch really friendly helpful and very creative too. There's more stuck control than anticpated but am getting into a routine now and I do enjoying dealing with the public.
I have been lucky enough to try the new yarns from RYC Rowan and Jaeger and have to say (totally unbiased of course) that I like them on the whole.
Here is my opinion on the new yarns
Jaeger Roma 15% angora and is absolutely gorgeous to just squeeze in the ball and to knit with. This yarn is one of those few yarns that is orgasmic to knit with. Am getting goosebumps just thinking about it. My favourite of the new yarns definitely.
RYC Luxury cotton DK this is a slightly thinner lighter yarn for a cotton one. I am not a fan of cotton yarns but I do like this one and have just got the yarn to knit the artists coat on the cover of RYC Classic Art book. I have changed the colours though and am using pale blue as the main colour instead of beige, deep pink instead of green, deep blue where the pale blue would be and green where the pink should be.
RYC Natural Silk Aran is another of my favourites I just can't decide on the colour to buy for this. It has a slighly mottled effect and knits really nicely. I did a small swatch in pink and green stripes. Two colours I wouldn't normally put together but they go really well.
Rowan Glimmer Print. I have to say that I am not a fan of this yarn. It's just not my style. It is a thick cotton ribbon/tape type yarn with gold leaf print on it. I do think it would be great for bags as it's not very stretchy. The Blue looks quite good and I do think it's the next big fashion thing.
Rowan Holiday I was very dismissive of this when I saw it as to me it looks like bandages however I really like it knitted up in stocking stitch It looks and feels completely different. A complete convert.
