August WIP and Finished Projects

Still on the needles is the RYC Luxury Cotton DK stripey top. The new projects on the needles are Pampas from Rowan 40 in Big Wool Fusion ( blue/off white mix) and Tommy from RYC Bambino a gorgeous cable and moss stitch tank top( in petrol blue) for a toddler. I am also knitting Sophie from Jaeger JB39 in Roma pale blue. I seem to be going through a Blue phase.

I have finished Flotsam and Jetsam in Rowan Calmer and the Union Jack Tank Top has been finished as has the scarf and teattime top. I can't show a photof of the latter 3 as they have disappeared into the bedrooms of their recipients. I also knitted a bag in Holiday for an exchange present.
I have knitted swatches in the new Rowan and RYC yarns and these are my verdicts so far.
Country: I love the colours , the thickness and the way it self stripes subtly.
Tapestry: Again I love the subtle striping and colour choices, I also like it's eco friendlyness with the wool and soya protein mix and it is sooo soft. It's a DK yarn so the pattern choice is huge.
Romance: Pastel Colours with a glittery thread running through it. My niece loves it but there aren't any childrens patterns for it yet.
RYC Silk Wool: I knitted a swatch in this and it is a dream to knit with. A lovely texture when knitted up as well
RYC Baby AlpacaDK: This is not a baby yarn but a yarn made from baby alpacas. This is the softest yarn imaginable only down side is that like mohair it sheds but it's worth knitting even with the shedding.
RYC Alpaca: It's very soft but I'm not a huge fan of the Astrakhan effect but it does knit nicely.
RYC Cashsoft Aran: Not a new yarn but an absolute dream to knit with. It glides off the needle and is so soft and easy to knit.
